Betting on Yourself and 3 Tips to Create New Possibilities in Your Life

manThere’s nothing like betting everything on yourself and then letting go! You know in your heart that you’ve got what it takes to change your life. What are you waiting on?  Play it safe, do nothing and nothing will change. How much longer can you stand this place your in?

Betting on Myself

You wouldn’t believe how many people have asked me this past month, “Gary, why in the world did you quit your job at the bank? It seemed like such a good job. Are you crazy?!”

Why? Simply, there’s no more time! I’m in a hurry. My hour glass is running out. So I jumped. I have no more excuses for not doing this. So here I am. I’m doing this. I’ve written a book.

Also, I had to to prove to myself and the world around me that I am committed and ALL IN.  I learned many years ago, that if I’m going to create new possibilities in my life (in this case, the possibility of being a professional author and Chain-Breaker), I needed to bet on myself. Because no one else would. Quitting my job is a big bet. I’m all in!

Are you waiting for a sign?

Most of us are waiting for a clear signal from outside of ourselves that it’s time for a change. I have learned to respond to those forces that say, “it’s time”. When I’ve scared myself, I know I’m moving in the right direction: out of the safe zone.

When you finally make the first move toward a dream and scare yourself, then the challenge is to keep calm and keep going forward.  It’s like riding a bicycle going down the road at 45 miles per hour and you do not know what’s around the next curve. You’re alive and you’re willing to go on. Now, keep going!!!

You know its going to be exciting, because you’ve scared the crap out of yourself.

Here are 3 Tips to Create New Possibilities for Yourself:

1. Bet on Yourself

Are you all in? Are you even half in? Again, if you are going to change your life, you will have to overcome the fear and leap into the pond of the unknown. You know it’s going to be cold at first, but give it a minute. Your mind will adjust and the pond starts to feel better.

2. Keep the Faith

I thank God I have the opportunity to do what I’m doing. Stay with it. Don’t give up. Believe it’s possible for you! I have so much to say about this topic, I’ll have to write another blog…stay tuned.

3. Find Great Support

When you have a big goal, let someone in your life know about it. Be careful who you share with, because people are going to look at you like you are a nut job. Surround yourself with bold, honest and encouraging voices.

If you like this blog, if you’ve ever felt this way or if you have someone in your life that may get something from what I’m writing, comment below or share this post with your friends.

I need your encouragement too.

Thanks!
